Samsung fixes a Chromebook Pro with a new backlit keyboard version

April 17, 2018 - chromebook

Samsung is regulating last year’s Chromebook Pro by releasing a new indication of a mechanism that is probably identical, save for one essential difference: a backlit keyboard, via SamMobile (originally speckled initial by ChromeUnboxed.)

The new indication facilities accurately a same specifications as a original. It has a same design, a same 12.3-inch, 2400 x 1600 pixel display, and a same Intel Core M3 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and $599.99 cost tag. The miss of a backlit keyboard was always a bizarre repudiation given a Chromebook Pro’s comparatively reward chain in a Chromebook pantheon, so it’s good to finally see a feature, even if it’s roughly a year late. Unfortunately, usually a Chromebook Pro seems to be removing a new keyboard; a somewhat cheaper Chromebook Plus’ keys will sojourn stranded in dark for now.

Curiously, Samsung is still offered a non-backlit version of a Chromebook Pro for a same $599.99 (presumably while it clears out batch of a aged model). So if you’re picking one up, make certain that you’re shopping a right one.

Update Apr 16, 2:15pm: Added bizarre sourcing.
